Jeff Sweatman - Afternoons

Jeff’s life became forever changed when, at the age of 4, his Aunt gave him the double-vinyl KISS Alive II, which he proceeded to listen to over and over with his ear as close to the stereo speaker as his parents would allow. While his musical abilities on instruments ranging from piano to saxophone to clarinet to various guitars (acoustic, electric, bass, mandolin) haven’t exactly gotten him to rockstar status (yet), he is grateful for the tremendous opportunity he has had in Charlottesville at The Corner to interview (and record the music of) a variety of real rockstars. Originally from Springfield, IL, he moved to Columbia, MO to attend Brad Pitt and Sheryl Crow’s old college, the University of Missouri. After working in radio in CoMo for the better part of 15 years, it was time for new challenges, and The Corner fit the bill. Jeff loves baseball, phad thai, and being only a couple hours’ drive from DC and the beach! After his first concert (Andy Gibb at Six Flags in St. Louis in the late 70s), he’s been to countless live shows since and loves a good rock’n’roll roadtrip. The band he’s seen the most? Pearl Jam (at least a baker’s dozen times…)
