Melissa's story begins in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As she was being pressured to decide what she wanted to do with the rest of her life while still in high school, she decided over Algebra homework that the person working the night shift on her local alternative radio station was having WAY more fun than she was. She was right, radio is more fun than factoring any day. College followed along with a stint at the college radio station (she is very glad she did not save the tapes from those shows). Since then she has worked numerous odd jobs at radio stations all over the Midwest. This is her first time living below the Mason-Dixon line, and she's loving Charlottesville. Melissa can often be found at one of the many great concerts that come to town, walking around her neighborhood, or improving her skills in the kitchen. You can hear her every Saturday and Sunday morning on 106.1 The Corner.
