It’s the 26th anual Men Who Cook! Monticello Area Community Action Agency’s (MACAA) Benefit will be held at the Charlottesville Omni Hotel on Saturday, April 6, 2013. Over 60 local amateur chefs, coordinated by Antonio Rice, will thrill guests with an array of gourmet specialties.  This event in known to sell out!  So get your tickets in advance!

MEN WHO COOK! guests will gather in the Omni Atrium at 5:30 p.m. for a pre-dinner cocktail hour with music by The Trius Jazz Trio, silent auction preview, and best of all, MEN WHO COOK! hors d’oeuvres. Dinner follows at 6:30 p.m. in the Omni ballroom.  The silent auction continues into the evening.  New for this event will be Soul Transit Authority, soultransitauthority.com a wonderful Motown and Soul band that makes you get up and dance!  Tickets are $125 each or purchase a table for $1000 and save $250. All tickets include free parking.  Seating is limited and the event always sells out so please make your plans early.

For 25 years MEN WHO COOK! has made it possible for MACAA to help low-income families escape poverty. MEN WHO COOK! sponsorships, ticket sales and silent auction all help MACAA offer pre-school education (Head Start Program), transitional housing for homeless families (Hope House), financial management education (Family Self Sufficiency), high school college preparation assistance (Project Discovery), emergency assistance (CARES and Rural Outreach), and employment and training assistance (Back to Work Program).

MACAA has been serving Charlottesville, and the Counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Louisa and Nelson since 1965, and this year expects to help nearly 3,000 people.
