In a nutshell, I grew up in Burlington NC, and graduated from UNCW with degrees in English and Creative Writing.

Right out of college, I caught the travel bug and backpacked Europe and South Africa, and then bartended in Dublin.

I moved back to Wilmington NC and got a job as a DJ for a station there and wrote a weekly music column for the Wilmington paper. Then I moved to Charlottesville to help start up 106.1 The Corner, and I also work as a news reporter Newsradio WINA.

I still tuck away my travel fund. Only now it’s a coin jar that also functions as coffee money, parking meter change, gotta-have-that-new-album money, so on…. When I am not at work, you can find me battling my husband for control of the record player (Ryan Adams vs. REM) or meeting him in the middle (John Prine, Billy Bragg, Wu-Tang…)
