An interesting take on which bands really are in fact “the” bands…

With or without the “the” seems acceptable when it comes to The Pixies, but the New York Times does use “the” in their great piece on the new, Kim Deal-less version of the band, so I’m going with that for tonight’s theme!

Oh, and speaking great pieces on classic “college rock” bands of the late 80s/early 90s (who are still going strong btw!), here’s one I saw today on Superchunk (catch ’em in Cville at The Jefferson 9/23!)
