John Wayne’s cowboy hat fetches $37K at auction

A cowboy hat worn by Hollywood actor John Wayne sold for $37,500 at an auction.

The camel-colored felt headwear was used by the legendary actor in six major Western movies from “The Comancheros” in 1961 to “The Undefeated” in 1969.

“John Wayne, ‘Comancheros’” is written in black marker underneath the front brim. His stage name is also written on the leather sweatband alongside the number “#3″.

The accessory was sold via Nate D. Sanders Auctions in Los Angeles.
