Bell Thanks Area Residents Who Helped Create New Laws

People often complain about politics, but some people actually do something about it. Albemarle Republican Delegate Rob Bell (pictured) has spoken to many area residents, and he’s formally thanked several of them for their role in creating new laws. During a Wednesday ceremony, Bell thanked Albemarle Police Officer Scott Miller for one idea. Prison and jail employees can now serve warrants to those who are already behind bars instead of taking an officer off the street to accomplish the same thing. David Barredo helped Bell to establish a new law that requires circuit courts to find good cause before they accept a sex offender’s name change application. Bell thanked 10 area people for this year’s suggestions.
