Onetime University of Virginia student-athlete George Huguely will be back in court this week. Virginia’s Court of Appeals has agreed to take up Huguely’s case on Wednesday. The 26-year-old Huguely is appealing his second-degree murder conviction. A Charlottesville jury convicted Huguely following the May 2010 death of his former girlfriend Yeardley Love. Huguely’s new defense team contends Circuit Judge Ted Hogshire allowed the seating of some jurors who had expressed strong views about the case. Huguely was sentenced to spend 23 years in the state prison system.
