It’s time to enter the 21st century. So says Attorney General Mark Herring (pictured), who has unveiled a list of ways to make his office both more transparent and more modern. Herring says not long after his inauguration, a new employee finished a project then asked her supervisor what to do with the file. Herring recalled the conversation. “She said ‘Well, I guess put it in your drawer.’ That’s no way to run a modern, efficient office like this.” The Attorney General’s Office will now replace its document management system with the software nearly all law firms have but his office does not. Herring says one advantage is that going electronic saves money.
