A movie that’s being produced by Tom Hanks and directed by Meg Ryan will be filmed in the Richmond area, and some of the casting took place Sunday. The new movie is “Ithaca,” a coming-of-age story about the challenges of growing up during World War II. There was a casting call for boys up to the age of 14 in Richmond. “Ithaca” is based on William Saroyan’s 1942 novel “The Human Comedy.”
