The city plans to convert the Hope Community Center on 11th Street N.W. into an alternative school for middle and high school kids. Former City Councilor Holly Edwards (pictured) believes the building will be a useful addition to the Charlottesville schools. Edwards wants to name it in honor of Rebecca Fuller McGinnis, who was born in 1892 and lived to be 107 years old. McGinnis taught several generations of Charlottesville school kids.
