Consumer Spending Rose In Virginia In 2012

Consumer spending in Virginia is higher than it was before the Great Recession. On the other side of the coin, it lags behind the nation in spending growth.
New figures released by the federal government show that Virginia’s per capita consumer spending in 2012 grew 2.9% over the previous year. The national figure was 3.3%.
