City Councilors will let a developer build a huge new apartment complex at the intersection of West Main Street and Roosevelt Brown Boulevard. The council has approved the mixed-use project called 1000 West Main. It means 648 new housing units that will be marketed for University of Virginia students.  Kathy Galvin, Kristin Szakos, and Satyendra Huja sided Wednesday night with a group called Campus Acquisitions. Dede Smith and Bob Fenwick voted against their proposal. Steve Bus (pictured at microphone) described the project’s features to the councilors. Campus Acquisitions hopes to break ground in the spring.
