There were two memorial services on Saturday for the late Gus Deeds. His family and friends assembled for a late morning event at Millboro Elementary School in Bath County. Others honored his memory during a separate memorial service at a nature camp north of Lexington in Rockbridge County. Gus (pictured) was the only son of local State Senator Creigh Deeds. He attacked his father last November 19th at their Bath County home, and ended up taking his own life. Gus Deeds would have turned 25 this month.
