Fire Damages Basement Of Southern Albemarle Home

Area firefighters say the basement of a house in southern Albemarle has been damaged by a fire.  County Fire and Rescue investigators say the incident was discovered shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday at 5745 Green Creek Road, which is off Route 6. There were no injuries, but the fire caused $15 thousand damage. Investigators say the person who had been living in the basement plans to stay with family members elsewhere.
