Former Charlottesville Prosecutor Dies At Age 83

A former Charlottesville Commonwealth’s Attorney has passed away. 83-year-old Dick Barrick died December 8th. Barrick served for 16 years as the city prosecutor. He got his undergraduate and law degrees from UVA after coming here in 1947. Barrick prosecuted several high profile cases, including the 1983 conviction of Glenn Barker for second-degree murder in the death of 12-year-old Katie Worsky. Barrick was able to secure a guilty verdict even though Worsky’s body was never found. According to Barrick’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
