Gas Prices On Downward Trend

Gas prices continue to go down with regular unleaded at an average of $3.22 a gallon in the Charlottesville area. That’s 8 cents below the state average and 15 cents lower than last year at this time. Tammy Arnette with AAA-Virginia says Roanoke drivers are paying the least at $3.20 a gallon. The most expensive place to fill the tank is Norfolk where gas is an average of $3.38 a gallon. Arnette says the decline comes at a good time as many Virginia drivers hit the road in August to use what time they have left before school goes back in session.
