Local Republican congressman Robert Hurt says he’s troubled by a recent prisoner swap that was engineered by the Obama administration. Hurt says he’s glad an American military man will return to the U.S. after years in captivity in Afghanistan. He’s not happy about the release of five terrorists from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Hurt also says he welcomes this year’s challenge from Democrat Lawrence Gaughan. Fifth District Democrats have chosen Gaughan to oppose Hurt this fall. The incumbent was a Monday guest on the Morning News with Rick and Jane and the Schilling Show. Hurt (pictured left) is shown with some local constituents.
