Longtime City Schools Administrator Dies

A pioneer in the city school system has passed away. Longtime educator Mary Reese died this past weekend. Reese was an administrator in the Charlottesville schools for many years. Reese was¬†Charlottesville’s first African-American assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. Local¬†community leader John Gaines says Reese was instrumental in establishing the education program for 4-year-olds.
