Recent UVA Alumna Testifies Before U.S. Senate Panel

Survivors of sexual assault on college campuses have pressed members of a U.S. Senate committee to update federal regulations that deal with their issue. One speaker was recent University of Virginia graduate Emily Renda, who told the lawmakers she was raped during her first-year on Grounds. Renda says many people don’t report assaults because they don’t think their friends will believe them.
