Ben Tribbett tweeted his resignation this week, saying he didn’t want to be a distraction because of personal attacks directed toward him. Tribbett is a behind the scenes advocate for liberal causes in Virginia. In May, 50 of the 55 Democrats in the U.S. Senate, at the urging of their Majority Leader Harry Reid (D- Nevada), publicly urged the Redskins to find a new name.
