Local Towns Hold Tuesday Elections

Tuesday will be election day in Scottsville, and the only suspense involves write-in campaigns. Jeanette Kerlin is one of two incumbent town councilors who planned to retire when her current term ends next month. Kerlin has agreed to stick around for another two years IF voters write-in her name. The Scottsville Weekly reports that Bob Chambless is asking voters to write-in his name for town councilor, and David Becker is willing to serve if he gets enough votes. Incumbent Mayor Barry Grove and four town councilors have no opposition this year. Grove’s name appears on the ballot, along with Councilors Ron Smith, Nancy Gill, Dan Gritsko, and Liz Knotts. The current council (pictured) meets at Scottsville’s┬áVictory Hall. The towns of Louisa, Mineral, and Orange will also hold elections Tuesday. Voters in all of those towns will cast ballots between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
