War Of Words Over Medicaid Includes Albemarle

Two groups with very different approaches to Medicaid expansion gathered Monday at the main County Office Building. Members of Virginia Organizing joined an outdoor crowd who chanted and waved signs that support Medicaid expansion. Republican Delegate Steve Landes says lawmakers need to focus on adopting a new state budget before they consider any expansion of the Medicaid rolls. Landes and Albemarle Delegate Rob Bell spoke to members of Americans for Prosperity. That group’s posters are critical of Virginia supporters of the Affordable Care Act.
