Elvis Costello talks retirement

Elvis Costello may have recorded his last album – he is contemplating retirement once his new project with The Roots is released.

The Oliver’s Army singer admits he has been thinking about stepping out of the spotlight to spend more time with his family for a few years and he has yet to decide if that time has come.

He tells Rolling Stone magazine, “I have a responsibility to my and my family’s well-being.

“I just lost my father (in 2011) and just as romantic disaster governs your younger life, mortality affects the way you do things when you’re older. If you’re going to leave home to tour, you’d better have a good reason to go.”
