Bonnaroo ticket sales shut down

Bosses behind hit music festival Bonnaroo have shut down the first day of ticket sales due to overwhelming demand.

Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish, Bon Iver and the newly-reunited Beach Boys will descend upon Manchester, Tennessee for the four-day Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in June and fans tried to get their hands on passes Saturday morning.

However, the ticketing site crashed due to an influx of visitors and executives were forced to suspend purchasing until further notice.

Event organiser Rick Farman tells The Tennessean, "We're blown away by your amazing response to this year's Bonnaroo lineup. Unfortunately, the ticketing system was blown away as well."

No other details were made available at the time WENN went to press but according to the Associated Press, festival agents are working to fix the problem.
