Community Corner Interview: Kevin Blanchard for Iron Man Triathlon

Kendall spoke to Retired Marine, Kevin Blanchard who stopped by the studio to discuss his upcoming fundraiser at Pro Re Nata. In 2005 Blanchard was injured while serving in Iraq resulting in 33 surgeries as well as the loss of one of his legs. This Saturday, December 11th, Kevin will complete a half Iron Man triathlon in Crozet to raise money for the Semper Fi & America’s Fund and the Homes For Our Troops organization. His journey will begin at the Crozet Park pool at 7am and he will cross the finish line at Pro Re Nata around 2:30pm. The public is invited to join him in the running portion of the triathlon or simply to celebrate with him at the finish line where one dollar from every pint sold will be included in his fundraising efforts.
