At 106.1 The Corner, we’d travel to the ends of the earth for a great glass of wine!  Fortunately for us, Charlottesville has established itself as a unique destination for wine lovers right in our back yard.  With The Corner Local Vine we’ll give you a taste of the local flavor and keep you up to date on the events, new releases, and fun to be had at some of our favorite local wineries who are personally inviting you to come and discover what makes them so unique.  Keep listening for more from our local partners:

 

 

DuCard Vineyards comprises 7 acres of French vinifera and native Virginia varieties, all meticulously nurtured and tended by hand in Madison County, located at an elevation of 1000 feet on a picturesque slope in the shadow of the Blue Ridge mountains. Their solar powered tasting room features gorgeous views of vines, a mountain stream, and the Shenandoah National Park. Savor the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains as you sip DuCard wine and enjoy the pure, fresh mountain air in their tranquil country setting. Open for tastings 11am – 6 pm Friday through Sunday plus holiday Mondays, and by appointment.

 

 

 

Stone Mountain Vineyards is situated at 1,700 feet, making them one of the highest vineyards in all of Virginia.  Coupled with superb Monticello terroir, they produce award-winning wines year after year.  Join them for a glass on their expansive deck, and take in the breathtaking view from the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Stone Mountain features a kitchen, though picnics are welcome, as are friendly dogs.  The tasting room is open Thursday through Monday with live music on the weekends.

 

 

 

The brand new Hark Vineyards in Earlysville features 100 percent estate grown grapes, crafted by Jake Busching in their state-of-the-art, solar-powered production shop.  Bring your friends, family, and a picnic and enjoy their beautiful views.  Located on Davis Shop Road, Hark Vineyards is open Friday through Sunday.
