State Workers Might Get Pay Increase

A possible pay raise for state workers. Suffolk Delegate Chris Jones, the chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, says the Commonwealth will have more state revenue than expected.

Jones says police, teachers and other public employees could receive salary increases between 1 and 2%. Republicans in the House of Delegates also want to eliminate items that appear in Democratic Governor Terry McAuliffe’s budget recommendations. They include fees for restaurant inspections and saltwater fishing licenses.
