KEENE, NH (WINA) – So-called “crying Nazi” Chris Cantwell is under arrest again… this time on federal charges of trying to extort somebody over the internet. Cantwell was arrested Thursday morning at his Keene, New Hampshire home after a two-count federal indictment Wednesday accusing him of sending a vulgar, threatening message June 16th on the social media app Telegram.
The feds have released little information about the incident, so far, other than he was trying to extort personal identifying information from a man with the online pseudonym “VM”.
The 39-year old is charged with extortionate interstate communications, and threatening interstate communications.
This alleged incident occurred about a month before Cantwell used the same social media app to threaten attorney Robert Kaplan. She’s the lead attorney in the Sines v. Kessler Charlottesville federal court lawsuit where those injured are suing Unite the Right organizers… who include Cantwell. The judge ordered him no longer to contact Kaplan.
