(NEW YORK, NEW YORK – WINA)   University of Virginia women’s basketball star Jocelyn Willoughby was selected Friday night as the tenth pick of the first round of the WNBA 2020 Draft.   The Phoenix Mercury selected her, and then quickly traded her to the New York Liberty for guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough.

Willoughby is the 11th player in the history of the Wahoo women to be taken in a WNBA draft, and the first UVA player to be drafted since Monica Wright in 2010.  She finished the year as the ACC scoring leader at 19.2 points per game, and is UVA’s first recipient of the Kay Yow Award as the ACC Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
