ACPD investigating a Saturday home break-in; suspects still at large

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A homeowner is safe following a Saturday evening breaking and entering on Rocks Farm Drive.

The homeowner called 911 to report two individuals were attempting to gain entry into their residence at approximately 8:05 p.m.

During the call, the suspects cut the power to the home and entered.

When the suspects encountered the victim and a dog inside, the two fled before police arrived.

The first officer arrived at 8:13 p.m. Following a search of the immediate area, the Albemarle County Police Department conducted a search of the immediate area until approximately 12:30 a.m. Sunday, with the assistance of a drone operator from the Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office.

The suspects are described as two Spanish-speaking adult males wearing all black clothing at the time of the incident.

ACPD is asking residents in this area to check their home surveillance systems for footage captured on September 13 between 7:30-9 p.m.
