ACPS takes two juveniles into custody for stolen motor vehicle

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – On Monday, April 29, 2024, at approximately 8:20 am, an on-duty Albemarle County police officer was traveling along the 2100 block of Seminole Trail when he noticed a Volkswagen Jetta that had been reported stolen the day prior, Sunday, April 28.

When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver fled. A short pursuit ensued that resulted in the driver of the Jetta crashing in the area of Seminole Trail and Woodbrook Drive. No one was injured in the crash.

ACPD then took a 14-year-old and 16-year-old into custody. Charges are pending.
