CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Something you don’t see every day from your local animal rescue, but CASPCA is looking rehome 16 guinea pigs. And in order to do so, the animals are available for adoption free of charges.

“Guinea pigs are wonderful companion animals with vibrant personalities,” says Taylor Reinson, Director of Animal Operations. “They are playful, affectionate, and each has their own unique
quirks. We invite our community to consider adopting a pair and experiencing the happiness they can bring!”

They do make squealing sounds, but the are quiet companions, and they produce fewer alergens than many other companion animals. As a companion animal, they are playful and interactive. In addition to considering adoption, community members are encouraged to donate guinea pig supplies they may not be using, or to donate through the shelter’s Amazon and Chewy wish
lists, which can be found by clicking here.
