Charlottesville resident dies in Thursday evening Seminole Trail crash

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A 23-year old passenger was killed Thursday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Seminole Trail. Albemarle Police responded shortly after 6:30 Thursday evening on Seminole involving a sedan and an SUV in the area of Hill Top View Lane. The sedan’s driver was evaluated at the scene with minor injuries. One passenger was transported to UVA with life-threatening injuries and another with minor injuries. Shahd Boz Al Asaal of Charlottesville was the critically injured passenger who later succumbed to the injuries.

The SUV driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries, the only occupant in either vehicle wearing a seat belt. The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Albemarle County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team.
