CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville’s 28th annual Grand Illumination will take place, after all.

After snow caused travel challenges for vendors coming from Richmond and Lynchburg, and safety issues for attendees, the city canceled Friday’s scheduled event. Now, it has been rescheduled for Wednesday.

“Unfortunately, we decided to make the difficult decision to cancel the event for this evening,” said city spokesperson Afton Scheider to Cville Right Now on Friday.

The event will now take place at Ting Pavilion from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday
