CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The beginning of the year might have been the most challenging in Charlottesville High School history, but administrators, staff, teachers, and students were able to stabilize and repair the issues… and for 284 students, a Thursday night graduation. Superintendent Dr. Royal Gurley was at Buford Middle’s beam signing decked out in CHS gear Thursday morning, and he said the night at CHS is one of honoring the graduates and celebrating with their families.
He said while CHS that moment in time had an unfortunate situation that he would not want to go through again, so much was learned and so many people came together to make it a great school year. In the athletics program this year, both the boys and girls basketball teams made state playoffs, as has boys’ tennis and soccer.
