CPD charges 20-year old Henrico woman in Wed. fatal Emmet Street pedestrian accident

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Although cooperative in the investigation, a 20-year old suburban Richmond woman faces charges in the Wednesday night pedestrian accident that killed a 67-year old man on Emmet Street. After consultation with the Commonwealth’s Attorney, Henrico County resident Eleanor Cribbs is charged with reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle while using a handheld device. CPD has also released the identity of the man pronounced dead at the scene on Emmet near Holiday Drive around 9:30 p.m. as Charlottesville resident James Leroy Jones.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information related to this case is urged to contact Traffic Officer James Mullins at (434) 995-8350.
