CHARLOTTSVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A Monday afternoon social media drop of “The Faces of QB1” by CavFutures brings together a conversation between two legendary past University of Virginia quarterbacks Shawn Moore and Bryce Perkins, and current quarterback Chandler Morris.

CavFutures Executive Director Lo Davis told WINA Morning News, “That’s going to be featuring three generations of unbelievable quarterbacks.”

Shawn Moore was the quarterback from 1987-1990, and led the Hoos to what is their first and only 10-win season in program history in 1989.

They finished that season 10-3, losing to Illinois in the 1990 Florida Citrus Bowl, and quarterbacked the 1990 team that accomplished a #1 Associated Press ranking before a loss to Georgia Tech.

Bryce Perkins played two years as a junior college transfer in 2018 and 2019, and was the last Virginia quarterback to beat Virginia Tech in 2019.

That team won the ACC Coastal to go to what is right now UVA’s only ACC Championship game and got routed by Clemson.

The team went to the 2020 Orange Bowl and lost to Florida.

That team won 9 games on a season for just the 8th time in program history.

Chandler Morris has led the Hoos to a 9-2 record and 1st-place in the ACC heading into Saturday’s Scott Stadium matchup against the 3-8 Hokies.

The 9-wins in only the 9th time in program history, and a win over Virginia Tech gives the team 10 wins for only the 2nd time in program history.

“We had a great conversation with the three of them,” said Davis, “and we’re planning on doing a series of podcasts led by legends and connecting them with current players in all sports.”

Davis said, “The one thing that is kind of the thread that connects all of them is that they’re built the same, and they are leadings who very much value not only the position, but the position here at the University of Virginia and what that means.”
