One person dead after crash on Monacan Trail Road

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Albemarle County Police Department is investigating a fatal Monday morning crash on Monacan Trail Road in the area of Rural Ridge Lane in North Garden.

Fire and rescue units dispatched at approximately 11:38 a.m. arrived to find a single-vehicle crash with one person ejected. First responders attempted life-saving efforts, but the driver was pronounced dead. Their identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. A passenger was transported to UVA Medical Center in non-life threatening condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Albemarle County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team.
