One person shot in Albemarle County’s Boonesville area

BOONESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle Police are investigating a weekend shooting in the Boonesville area. Police, fire, and rescue were dispatched shortly before 8 Sunday morning to a shooting with an injury to the 3200 block of Boonesville Road near the Prize Hill Cemetary. Officers got there to find an adult victim with a gunshot wound who was transported to an unnamed hospital with serious injuries.

One person is in custody, and police call it an isolated incident. The investigation is ongoing, and information will be released when it is available. Meanwhile, anyone who knows anything about this is urged to call the Albemarle County Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division at 434-296-5807.
