CISMONT, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – An Albemarle firefighter was treated and released for minor burns fighting an early morning house fire that displaced six resident of a home near Cismont. A dispatch was sent out shortly before 3:30 Friday morning for a structure fire in the 500 block of Maxfield Road. Firefighters arrived 12 minutes to heavy fire and smoke conditions. The half-dozen residents were home at the time and a working smoke alarm ensure they all safely got out. However, a pet dog is missing.
The Albemarle fire marshal is investigating the cause of a possible electrical mechanical failure of a hot tub. The family is getting help from family members and the Red Cross.
