Waynesboro man found deceased in vehicle in Lake Nelson

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A Waynesboro man was found dead in a car submerged in Lake Nelson on Labor Day morning, according to a Nelson County Sheriff’s Department release.

Deputies were dispatched at 6:49 a.m. to the lake at Arrington for a motor vehicle partially submerged in the water, according to the sheriff’s office.

Upon arrival at 7:05 a.m., deputies found a passenger vehicle in the lake about 30 yards from a public boat ramp.

Additional resources were brought in and the vehicle was pulled from the water with help from Virginia State Police Dive and Wintergreen Fire and Rescue Swift Water Rescue teams.

Inside the vehicle, deputies located a deceased male in the driver’s seat who was identified as Graham Isaac Bolter of Waynesboro.

The sheriff’s office has no additional details to release at this time, and the body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond as part of the investigation.
