Wednesday 11/21 News At Noon

  • Hedge Fund–“Graceless”: The title track to the 5-piece’s new EP. The band blends the serious and the satirical and hail from Bodi Beach, a suburb of Sydney. 
  • Emma Rosenkranz–“Still Thinking Of You”: From the New York-based 18 year old singer songwriter’s debut 3-track EP, First Sessions which features drummer Joe Strasser (Loudon Wainwright III) and Grammy winner Phil Palombi on bass. 
  • Elle King–“Baby Outlaw”: Taken from her sophomore release, Shake The Spirit, the song was co-written with Greg Kurstin who co-wrote Adele’s “Hello”. King performed it on Cordon last week.

  • Laura Jane Grace & The Devouring Mothers–“The Friendship Song”: The Against Me! frontwoman’s side project’s new record is called Bought To Rot and deals with her love/hate relationship with Chicago. 
  • William Tyler–“Fail Safe”: The member of Silver Jews and Lambchop’s new solo album, Goes West, drops on January 25th.
  • Sean McConnell–“Here We Go”: The first single from his new album, Secondhand Smoke, out February 8th.

  • Dramarama–“Swamp Song”: The first new song from John Easdale’s band in 13 years. They have a new album due out in 2019. 
  • SONTALK–“Baby, I’m Gone”: SONTALK is the stage name of producer, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter John Lemay. His debut EP is Act 1. 
  • Rayland Baxter–“Larocco”: The latest single from his new album, Wide Awake, produced by Butch Walker. His biggest headlining tour to date includes a stop at the Southern on February 6th.

Monday 11/26 News At Noon

  • Richard Ashcroft–“Surprised By Joy”: From The Verve frontman’s fifth solo album Natural Rebel. The album is comprised of 10 new songs all written by Ashcroft and produced alongside Jon Kelly (Kate Bush, Paul McCartney) and Emre Ramazanoglu (Bobby Gillespie). 
  • Alle–“Soot”: The multi-instrumentalist, producer, and DJ’s debut album Mara was conceived in 2014 and finished in 2016. It was inspired by mixtapes he liked making in high school. He will be touring as a dj in 2019. 
  • Trivium–“I Don’t Wanna Be Me”: The Orlando band formed in 2019. This is just a single–guitarist Corey Beaulieu says the new album won’t arrive before 2020.

  • Iceage–“Broken Hours”: From the Danish band’s 4th album Beyondless. Their 2018 North American headlining tour ends tonight in Brooklyn. 
  • Powell Tillmans–“Feel The Night”: The first EP from duo of London-based electronic musician Oscar Powell and Wolfgang Tillmans, a fine artist who lives in Berlin and London, is called Spoken By The Other
