Wednesday 3/20 News At Noon

  • The Budos Band–“Arcane Rambler”: Taken from their first album in 5 years, the 10-track Budos Band V, the cover of which is a linoleum cut made by drummer Brian Profilio, and is mixed by Daptone co-founder Gabe Roth. The band has been together for 20 years but within the last five years two members have moved from New York to California and the group had to adjust to being bi-coastal.
  • Trixie Whitley–“Long Time Coming”: You may recognize her as the frontwoman of Daniel Lanois’ band Black Dub. Whitley’s upcoming solo album, Lacuna, is out March 29th and was produced by Run The Jewels producer Little Shalimar. The video for the track is out now and is the second in a trilogy of videos.
  • Devon Gilfillian–“Get Out & Get It”: This song is the first single from his debut album which was produced by Shawn Everett (The War On Drugs, Alabama Shakes, Kacey Musgraves). Gilfillian is currently on tour with The Brothers Osborne, and will be making stops at the Pilgrimage, Shaky Knees, and Newport Folk festivals.

  • Tyler Ramsey–“A Dream Of Home”: The former lead guitarist of Band of Horses’ latest solo album, For The Morning, drops on April 5th. Catch him in dC with Strand Of Oaks on April 11th. 
  • Shawn Jones–“Orpheus”: Taken from his album The Dark & The Light (out tomorrow), the video for this song is out now. Rolling Stone Magazine named it one of the 10 best Americana songs to hear right now!
  • KT Tunstall–“Little Red Thread”: From her latest record WAX, produced by Nick McCarthy of Franz Ferdinand. KT is in DC on May 11th.

  • Soft Science–“Sooner”: The Sacramento dreamgaze syndicate’s new single is from their first album in four years entitled Maps
  • Tame Impala–“Patience”: This is the first new music from Kevin Parker and the Tame Impala crew since 2015. 
  • Circa Waves–“Times Won’t Change Me”: From the British indie-rock band’s forthcoming record What’s It Like Over there, which drops on April 5th.

  • Lambchop–“Everything For You”: The Nashville band fronted by Kurt Wagner (and originally called Posterchild) has a new album out as of Friday entitled This (Is What I Wanted To Tell You)
  • Driftwood–“Lay Like You Do”: Their new album Tree Of Shade drops on April 5th. It is their 5th overall and was produced by Simone Felice of The Felice Brothers and has worked with the likes of The Lumineers. Catch them at the Southern on May 4th. 
  • Fil Bo Riva–“Radio Fire”: From German-Italian native Filippo Bonamici’s latest effore Beautiful Sadness. Bonamici also studied in Ireland, worked in Madrid, and now lives in Berlin.
