Videos of the Day – week of 11/10

it was a thrill to interview Jenny Lewis this week on the phone before her show in Richmond! Our bonus video of the week (above) is from her recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning…

11/10 – brand new Lorde video for “Yellow Flicker Beat!”  Hunger Games soundtrack out next Tuesday…

11/11 – to quote Gary Clark Jr. on Twitter, “In honor of those who sacrificed and served.” This track is on Cody ChesnuTT’s recent release ‘Landing On A Hundred: B-Sides And Rarities’

11/12 – Here’s one of Time Magazine’s “Best Songs of 2014” – The Pains of Being Pure At Heart released a deluxe edition of their 2014 album Days of Abandon back in Sept., and now there’s a new video for “Kelly,” which feat. vocals by Jen Goma who is also in A Sunny Day in Glasgow (confusingly, that’s not her in the video)!

11/13 – here’s another video that makes me wanna check out a different band (the one above made me explore A Sunny Day in Glasgow).  I’ve never been the biggest Cymbals Eat Guitars fan, but their new video spotlights a UK School of Rock band Crosshair lip-synching to their song, which may sound ridiculous, but the way it’s done made my 7 1/2-month old son’s potential musical future flash in front of my eyes in an awesome way!

11/14 – a fun one for Friday…the new Kendrick Lamar track “i” (fyi, there are a couple of NSFW words, but I hope you agree the overall message outweighs that!).  What’s that sample?  How about “That Lady” by the Isley Brothers! 🙂
