Videos of the Day – week of 11/18

11/18 – cool track & story behind this new video from Blood Orange aka Devonte Hynes: “I decided to visit Georgetown, Guyana for the first time, the town where my mother is from. She, herself has not been back for 30 years, 3 years before I was born. I tracked down family members, including my 92 year old grandfather, who I had never met before. In this video you will see our first ever meeting.
The wonderful female vocals on this track are performed by Caroline Polachek from the band Chairlift.”

11/19 – Shelby Lynne has a new Thanks EP coming out 12/10…this is the type of sound & setting in which she thrives…just groovy, country/soul with no muss & fuss!

11/20 – Ok, this one might take the cake for the best…video…ever! Not just because it’s Bob Dylan, or because it goes with a song that’s nearly 50 years old, but because WE ALL (me definitely included) WATCH TOO MUCH TV!!!

11/21 – and Queens of the Stone Age also unveiled an “interactive” video this week…I couldn’t get the thing to play via Explorer or Firefox, but you can try here, otherwise this is the plain ol’ YouTube version.  It’s only impressive & “interactive” if you have the most up-to-date browser & software, I guess…oof.

11/22 – here’s U2’s new lyric video for “Ordinary Love”
