Videos of the Day – week of 4/17/17

4/17 – today is Liz Phair’s 50th birthday!  see above for her 1994 performance of the Exile In Guyville classic “Never Said” on The Late Show with David Letterman!

4/18 – Waxahatchee has announced a new album for this July & today they’ve unveiled a new video

4/19 – Coco Hames is also on Merge Records with a new album that came out a couple weeks ago.  Keep an eye out for bassist Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs), drummer Julian Dorio (The Whigs), and lead guitarist Adam Meisterhans (The Weight).

4/20 – Arkansas singer/songwriter Elise Davis has done a cool “One Car. One Mic. One Guitar.” series of videos for her debut album that came out late last year.  The Token was produced by Sam Kassirer of Josh Ritter’s band (who has also produced Ritter, Langhorne Slim, Lake Street Dive). It also features a great band with Josh Kaufman (Aaron & Brice Dessner of The National’s collaborator for Day Of The Dead) on guitar, Bradley Cook (Sharon Van Etten) on bass, and Matt McCaughan (Bon Iver, Hiss Golden Messenger) on drums.

bonus short clip for 4/20: (here’s the backstory)

4/21 – Coachella 2017 will no doubt be filled with more great performances this weekend, as it was last weekend.  Radiohead had to leave the stage multiple times due to technical difficulties, but did this version of “Paranoid Android” as the 3rd-to-last song of their 22-song set
