Videos of the Day – week of 8/18

8/18 – Arcade Fire has been covering artists local to wherever they happen to be playing a show this year on the Reflektor tour…last night in DC, Fugazi got the AF treatment (is that Obama dancing onstage??)!

and here’s the original, in all its “live in 1999” glory…

8/19 – Tove Lo has announced her new album Queen of the Clouds will be out 9/30.  As the video for “Habits (Stay High)” from her debut EP Truth Serum closes in on 13 million views, she has released this new video (perhaps an answer track to critics of the initial song/video’s vivid imagery?).  Here’s “Not on Drugs”

8/20 – the new group The Last Internationale features the drummer of Rage Against The Machine (among other cool associations) & has a new album out this week called We Will Reign.  Check out the video for the track “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Indian Blood”

8/21 – our New Song of the Day at 2pm today, it’s the all-star band T-Bone Burnett put together to craft music to go with recently unearthed Bob Dylan lyrics (that’s Bob’s handwriting in the lyric video!) from 1967. That was Dylan’s Basement Tapes period, hence The New Basement Tapes.  Look for the album on 11/11!

8/22 – if you haven’t seen Dave Grohl take the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, it might be the best one yet!  Wonder if Sissy Spacek has seen it? 😉

and Foo Fighters have just this week unveiled the trailer for the HBO series about their new album Sonic Highways…looks pretty awesome!
