Fire destroys home near Free Union

FREE UNION, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – An Albemarle resident has been displaced after an early morning fire destroyed their home. Firefighters were called to the 4000 block of Pelham Road near Free Union shortly after 6am. They got there about 10 minutes later and found visible flames. The home’s occupant had evacuated with no injuries.

The house is a total loss and the resident is being helped by family and friends. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
