Virginia Farm Bureau 2024 Thanksgiving Meal Survey Finds Price Down from Last Year’s Record-High

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Virginia Farm Bureau’s annual Thanksgiving meal informal survey shows the price down from a record high 2023. With the turkey price down from $2.18-a-pound last year to $1.68 this year, Farm Bureau has found the average cost of a traditional Thanksgiving meal for 10 people in 2014 is $81.07… down from a whopping $91.30 last year. Farm Bureau says the turkey accounts for 33% of the price. In addition to the turkey, the meal consists of ham, stuffing, sweet and russet potatoes, rolls, carrots, celery, green beans, cranberries, peas, milk, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Farm Bureau says the price of most items decreased from 2023 except for carrots, sweet potatoes, and whole milk which all cost more this year. Click here for the complete VAFB story.
